In essence, online postings should not disclose any information that is confidential or proprietary to you or a company or to any third party that has disclosed information to you.

Be sensible. You are legally responsible for your postings, and so you may be subject to liability if your posts are found defamatory, harassing, or in violation of any other applicable law. You may also be liable if you make postings which include confidential or copyrighted information (music, videos, text, etc.) belonging to third parties.

Best practice. Remain friendly, responsible and positive when online.

Be credible. Be accurate, fair, thorough and transparent. Itโ€™s your reputation.

Be honest. Be the first to respond to your own mistakes. Remain factual.

Be professional. Be cordial, honest and professional at all times. Itโ€™s your work.

Be real. Listen before you talk. Before entering any conversation, understand the context. Who are you speaking to? Is there a good reason for you to join the conversation? Write what you know. Know your facts and cite your sources.

Be respectful. Donโ€™t cite or reference others without their approval. When you do make a reference, link back to the source. Donโ€™t publish anything that might allow inferences to be drawn which could embarrass or damage a person.

Be responsive. When you gain insight, share it where appropriate.
