So much clarity to share.
On behalf of my client B.One, this meeting was to introduce the concept of home automation and how it may fit within a larger aged care residential environment/setting. We took this opportunity to have a conversation with Ryan from Eldercare about the barriers and perhaps perceived obstacles which would need to be tackled to implement such a service, as well as what were the selling points.
What I learnt;
Aged care facilities are concerned about energy consumption, and so any automation tools to turn lights/aircons etc down or dim, to reduce energy use, are a good thing. It costs less than $100 to retro fit a sensor light into any residents room. Today. We have the tecnology.
Aged care facilities need to install solar sooner rather than later... and bigger companies should look at the concept of solar farms.
Lighting is better served from around the edges of a room, not the centre as has been traditionally the case. This stops the casting of shadows and creates a possible link to assist with the care of people living with dementia in this scenario.
B.One Technology is only a tiny component in the larger scheme of things but it will play an important role in assisting operations with the control and data they need to reduce energy costs. Impressive.
